I work with seniors. I am always upset to hear Dr.s dismiss this behavior. Have her doc do a mini mental exam plus a test called the "clock test". There are several other types of tests that will show you a better pic of what's up. Don't settle for i... more

Are you able to take her to a Geriatric Specialist?  Sounds like the beginnings of something--depression, dementia, heart problems....
It might be worth it to rule some things out, and find out if there are any medications that might help her.

Thanks Brenda, that may be our next step. I did get her doctor to agree to several tests. She's been having meds monitored now and is on antibiotics for a UTI. I work with seniors too and have numerous health issues. Don't know how much longer I can ... more

Mom keeps taking too many meds. She has dementia which may be the result of many problems or simply Alzheimers. She refuses to let anyone assist with her meds & has taken too many. We are afraid she will OD, what can I do??? more
