We recently went through this with our mother.  We worked with her doctor who completed the necessary forms to the State.  The State sent a letter to my mom that her driver's license had been revoked.  She never knew who or how this happened. more

I had a similar situation. I suggest that you get an elder law attorney involved as soon as possible. Also, have you talked to Social Security and told them that you have proof that your sister closed the account/or took the money out of the accoun... more

just feel good about yourself, you tried your very best to do the right thing. As far as your sister, contact who you need to and let go. Don't let it change you. This is all things I also need to remember more

It does pay to do the right thing ... you know that in your heart. That is why we do family caregiving. It is the right thing to do and we benefit from the good times, among the bad, related to caring for an older adult. You got to have good times

I would suggest calling your local county aging unit. They might have some tips for paid and volunteer services that might help you with your parents. Also, they usually have some literature you can read on how to deal with these issues. I know wh... more

I made her day! I made my friend's day by getting her phone bill reduced. I called sbc because she was paying $20 a month, and making about 15 calls. She is eligible for a discount--lifeline, I think they call it. She will get $8.50-something off
